Many of Europe’s top stars will compete at the Rehlingen World Athletics Continental Tour Silver meet on Sunday (24) live on European Athletics’ YouTube channel.

Malaika Mihambo, the Olympic and two-time world champion, will be looking to impress in front of the home crowd as she competes in long jump for the first time in the outdoor season.

She’ll be joined by the Istanbul 2023 European Athletics Indoor Championships winner, Jazmin Sawyers, who jumped 6.89m last year after rupturing her Achilles in April 2024.

Also taking to the runway is the Dutch national record holder Pauline Hondema, Poland’s Anna Matuszewicz, alongside German duo Maryse Luzolo and Laura Raquel Muller, a former European U20 bronze medallist.

While the men’s discus sees former Olympic and three-time world champion Daniel Stahl of Sweden take on three of Germany’s best on home soil.

The Swede will come against European leader and reigning European U23 champion, Steven Richter, the silver medallist at the same European U23 championships, Mika Sonsa, and world finalist, Henrik Janssen.

Joining them in Martynas Alekna, the brother of world record holder in the same event Mykolas Alekna, as he looks to secure the qualification distance of 65.50m for the Birmingham 2026 European Athletics Championships.

All five men will be hoping to compete in Birmingham this summer in what could be one of the best competitions of this event at a European championship.

Yemisi Mabry, formerly Ogunleye, will also be competing on home ground as the shot put Olympic champion continues her outdoor season after throwing 18.55m at the Shanghai Diamond League.

She’ll be facing two-time European medallist Fanny Roos of Sweden who also competed in Shanghai and threw 19.26m to open her outdoor season.

On the track the men’s 800m will see nine athletes with PBs all within 1:44.01 and 1:44.84, as Germany’s Alexander Stepanov looks to win the event two years in a row.

He’ll be joined by British pair, Callum Dodds and European U23 silver medallist Justin Davies after both athletes opened their season on 9 May at the Belfast Classic.

Croatia’s Marino Bloudek, a former European U20 champion, will also be racing over two laps after placing fifth at the world indoors in Torun earlier this year.

While Mateusz Borkowski, a former European U23 champion and European indoor silver medallist, and Samuel Philstrom, a European U23 bronze medallist, will also be racing in Rehlingen.

The women’s 800m sees Isabelle Boffey, who won European golds at each age group championships, open her outdoor season after storming to 1:57.43 in January.

However, she’ll be racing the European Athletics indoor champion, Anna Wielgosz, German champion Smilla Kolbe, French indoor champion Charlotte Dumas, and European finalist Angelika Sarna.

Valentina Rosamilia, the former European U20 bronze medallist and World U20 silver medallist, will also be opening her outdoor season after setting a short track PB of 1:59.81 in March.

Norway’s 19-year-old star, Hakon Moe Berg, will contest in the 1500m as he continues his transition to the senior stage after taking gold at the Tampere 2025 European Athletics U20 Championships in both the 1500m and 3000m.
