Two European U20 records recently set by Czechia sprinter Tomáš Horák in have been officially ratified by European Athletics.
The 18-year-old clocked 45.64 at the Czech U20 Indoor Championships in Ostrava on to set his first European U20 record in the 400m short track event.
He returned to the same arena a week later for the Czech Indoor Championships for seniors and twice beat the European U20 record for the 200m short track, leaving the new mark at 20.65.
Horák went on to place fifth in the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Kujawy Pomorze on Saturday (22).
He was a member of Czechia’s gold medal-winning men’s 4x400m team at the Tampere 2025 European Athletics U20 Championships, where he placed sixth in the individual event.
