The organisational team of Rieti 2026 continues to move forward. The volunteer recruitment campaign launched for the European Athletics U18 Championships is going extremely well: in just over two months, 500 applications have already been received.
This is a far-from-obvious result that confirms the growing excitement surrounding the international event scheduled from 16-19 July 2026, at the Guidobaldi Stadium in Rieti, which is set to welcome the best emerging talents in European athletics.
The numbers speak for themselves: out of 500 total applications, 247 come from Rieti, 203 from the rest of Italy, and as many as 50 from abroad, highlighting the international scope of the event.
Among local applicants, the participation of younger people stands out: 135 are students involved through an educational program in city schools, a pathway that will continue in the coming weeks.
There is still time to be part of this adventure: applications will remain open until April 16 on the official website. A symbolic date that will also mark the three-month countdown to the start of the event.
