Twice European U23 200m champion Blessing Afrifah, European hammer bronze medallist Rose Loga and European 4x400m bronze medallist Jean-Paul Bredau are among the standout names at the Meeting International de Forbach on Sunday (31), which will be streamed live on the European Athletics website from 13:10 CEST.
The annual event is France is a World Athletics Continental Tour Bronze meeting.
Israel’s Afrifah, who won 200m gold at the Bergen 2025 European Athletics U20 Championships, defending the title he won two years earlier in Espoo, will race in the 100m. He faces a stiff challenge from Canada’s Brendon Rodney and Eliezer Adjibi.
Rodney was a member of Canada’s winning 4x100m quartet at the Paris Olympic Games, while Adjibi is a national indoor 60m gold medallist.
In the women’s hammer, France’s Rose Loga, who won bronze at the Roma 2024 European Athletics Championships, comes up against Poland’s Ewa Różańska, the European silver medallist from Munich 2022.
German champion Bredau faces All-African Games gold medallist Chidi Okezie of Nigeria and former European indoor finalist Samuel García in the men’s 400m.
The women’s 800m also promises an interesting matchup, with Switzerland’s World University Games silver medallist Veronica Vancardo taking on Cuban champion and Pan-American Games 1500m silver medallist Daily Cooper Gaspar.
The triple jump competitions are also worth watching, featuring Finland’s European indoor champion Senni Salminen in the women’s event and France’s former world U20 and European U20 bronze medallist Melvin Raffin in the men's.
