  • Duplantis jumps at the chance to bring world record ticket to young fans at Birmingham 2026

World record pole-vaulter Armand Duplantis has become the second athlete ever to have a dedicated children’s ticket named after him at a top-tier athletics event in the UK.

To inspire more young people to experience the Championships, a new ‘Mondo Ticket’ priced at just £6.31, matching the height of his current world record jump, has today (Wednesday 27 May) been released for session nine on Friday 14 August, when the Swedish superstar competes in his qualifying round.

The ticket offers young fans the chance to watch the three-time European and two-time Olympic champion in action for the lowest price yet offered, as Duplantis looks to make history at the only major championship where he has yet to set a world record.

Fifteen times world record-breaker

Duplantis has broken the world record 15 times since 2020, most recently clearing an awe-inspiring 6.31m at the Mondo Classic in March 2026, which is the record the Mondo Ticket has been paired against. Should he break his own record again at the London Diamond League, the Mondo Ticket will increase in price alongside his new achievement.

Mondo Duplantis said: “Setting a world record in front of any crowd is special, but it means even more knowing young fans and families can experience pole vault, and even another record, at a special World Record price.

“6.31m is a major milestone I’m proud of, and I’m excited to celebrate it with fans – I hope to see young supporters from Birmingham, across the UK and Europe in the stands.”

With the newly launched ‘Mondo Ticket’ and with a family of four able to attend the event from just £33, the European Athletics Championships Birmingham 2026 is set to be one of the most family-friendly major championships yet, with fans from across the UK, Europe and beyond heading to the iconic Alexander Stadium from 10-16 August.

Cherry Alexander, Birmingham 2026 Championship Director, said: “Mondo’s record speaks for itself. Having a three-time European Champion, Olympic, World and Diamond League champion front a ticket offer adds real excitement to what is already shaping up to be a hugely family-friendly championship, during the UK’s first-ever European Athletics Championships. We can’t wait to see him shine in Birmingham.

“With fans from more than 40 countries already securing seats, Birmingham 2026 is one of the hottest tickets in athletics this year and a fantastic chance for young fans to see Mondo up close.”
Other highlights on Friday morning, alongside Mondo’s qualifying round, include round one of the men's 1500m, men's and women's 4x400m relay events, plus women's heptathlon events in 100m hurdles, high jump, and more.
