Ahead of Keely Hodgkinson's campaign to finally get hold of a first world title, she revealed that she’s in even better shape than when she broke the indoor 800m world record in February.
Talking at the pre-event press conference ahead of this weekend's (20-22) World Athletics Indoor Championships in Kujawy Pomorze, Poland, she explained how she has been training since making history.
And such has been the optimum condition she finds herself in, that her and her training partner Georgia Hunter Bell, world silver medallist, both feel ready for the outdoor season.
But first, she prefaced that while she has the pace, running three rounds in a championship is a very different experience.
“I'm very happy with where I am,” Hodgkinson said.
“Me and Georgia [Hunter Bell] were talking the day and were like, ‘we'd actually be quite happy if this was outdoors right now.’ So yes, very fortunate to be in that shape.
“As you get into an indoor season and you start racing and you start running faster and the reps get shorter and the recovery gets longer and I think you just naturally come into even more shape, which is pretty exciting.
“Fast times are obviously really great, but championships are just completely different and having three rounds in three days is another curveball that's really tough.
“I've done it before, but I'd quite like to have a day off if that's okay.
“But yeah, I'm looking forward to it and this last month has been great. I couldn't ask to be in a better position, to be honest.”

The British star has collected an Olympic gold and multiple European golds already at just 24-years-old, but the one medal that she has so far been unable to grasp is a world gold – indoors or outdoors.
So this weekend in Torun, Hodgkinson will be launching her attempt to finally tick it off her list after dominating the indoor season so far.
She will first take to the track on Friday (20) in the heats at 12:38pm local time, before hoping to progress through to the semifinals on Saturday (21) final on Sunday (22).
