Nadia Battocletti has been announced for the Cross Internacional de Italica, a World Athletics Cross Country Tour Gold event, in Santiponce near Seville on 8 November.
The Italian has enjoyed another stellar season on the track which included a 3000m gold at the World Athletics Indoor Championships and another 5000/10,000m double at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham.
After closing her track season with two sub-four minute 1500m clockings, Battocletti will now turn her focus back to cross country on the road to the SPAR European Cross Country Championships in Belgrade on 13 December where the 26-year-old could challenge for her third successive senior title.
Recent winners of the senior women’s race at the Cross Internacional de Italica have included Kenyans Vivian Cheruiyot (2011), Faith Kipyegon (2016), Beatrice Chepkoech (2019) and Beatrice Chebet (2024) and Bahrain’s Winfred Yavi (2025).
But since the inception of the race in 1982, there has never been an Italian winner in either the men’s or women’s race.
